God Of Second Chances And A Church That Never Gave Up

FAITHNEW LIFE

I started attending Skyline SIB in 2001 when the church first began, drawn by my parents’ new faith and the preaching of Ps Philip Lyn. I gave my life to Jesus, yet for years I struggled with vices like smoking, gambling, addiction, anger, and pride. After a tragic car accident that took my colleague’s life and broken relationships, I sank into depression and deeper addiction.

Rehab, what I call my 'Jungle School,' became a turning point. God’s grace never left me. Through faithful mentoring and weekly prayer sessions with Ps Philip and church members, God held me steady when I could have walked away.

In rehab, Scripture and worship transformed my heart. Skyline welcomed me back with love and dignity, reminding me I’m defined not by failure, but by God’s mercy.

Today, at 45, I’m married to my lovely wife Jenny, raising four children in the same church that restored my life. I serve in children’s ministry, ushering, and parenting ministry.

Over 20 years, God has reshaped me from a prideful, worldly man into a father who models faith for the next generation. We are not perfect, but we now have a spiritual home where we realign ourselves whenever we drift. I am most grateful that God has preserved my life through accidents, poor choices, and rebellion, and has given me the gift of family, faith, and a community that never gave up on me. Truly, God has been so good to me and to my household.
